Two important problems of the past

Neither one should be mentioned in jest

But as Hungary finally got it's quest

Freedom for her citizens, at last.

To solve the housing problem and provide bread

And after all the leaders came up flat

The gypsy finally said with great tact

There is a simple solution for all that

"Open up the borders to the west"

That will put the housing shortage to rest

While the sealing of our borders to the east

Hungary can easily provide to all her citizens a feast

Now that the iron curtain is gone

And the Russians can no longer take what they want

The housing shortage won't be acute much longer

And our agriculture will produce in abundance

What we build and grow

It remains in Hungary now

Soon there will be enough shelter

And our agriculture will also prosper

Roof over everyone's head

Chicken or egg in every basket

Bread and butter will be plenty

Hungary is on the road to recovery
